All Saints Catholic Parish, Religious Education Program seeks to bring the Children of God into a closer, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church. Our programs, curriculum, and activities flow from, and are rooted in, the context of a Catholic teaching. We will strive to teach respect for others and self, promote strong leadership skills, develop accountability for our actions and to grow in the Catholic faith. Ultimately through our relationship with Jesus, we will encourage service to God and to each other through evangelization, catechesis, worship and witness programs, courses, and activities flow from, and are rooted in, the context of a Catholic community of faith.
Family of Faith follows a four-year cycle: one pillar of the Catechism (The Profession of Faith, Sacraments, Life in Christ, and Prayer) is covered per year from September through May. Parents are given a detailed picture of authentic and vibrant Catholic family life, the tools to implement this life in their home, and age-appropriate readings, games, crafts, and other activities to help them deepen among their children a love for Christ and His Church.
The Catholic Church reminds parents we care for the physical, mental and spiritual well being of their child; “Parents are the first educators, not the only educators, of their children. It belongs to them, therefore, to exercise with responsibility their educational activity in close and vigilant cooperation with civil and ecclesial agencies” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2226)
There will be a parent registration and informational meeting with Michelle Nilsson from the diocese to explain the transition to the new format.
